Your queue
How it works
The requirement book, on a screen. Each desk sees the quotes waiting for it, does its part, and sends it on. Every step is timed.
The trip a quote takes
- Reception opens the form: the customer, what the part is for, and how we know its shape.
- Production measures it and lists the materials it needs.
- Quality checks the measurements. It has to be a different login from the one that measured.
- Stores says whether each material is in stock, and when anything missing is expected.
- Reception types what each material costs. The cost of production works itself out.
- The MD sets the selling price, or more than one, and sends the quote.
- Reception or the MD records what the customer said, with the number from the quotation document.
At your desk
- Your list opens when you sign in. It shows the quotes waiting for you.
- Tap a quote. The steps for your desk are at the top, under What to do here.
- Fill in your part and press the button at the bottom.
- A green line at the top of your list says where the quote went.
If it does not go through
A red box says why, and what you typed is still there. The usual reasons:
- Part of your step is still empty. The box says what is missing.
- The login that took the measurements is trying to check them. Someone else has to do the check.
- The quote has already moved on, because someone else pressed first. Go back to your list.
- The step is not yours. You can read any quote, but only the desk it is with can move it.
Sending a quote back
- Quality can send it back to production to be measured again.
- The MD can send it back to any earlier desk, or decline to quote. Both are under Send it back, or decline to quote, below the main button.
Good to know
- Boxes marked optional can be left empty.
- Need another row? Press Add another under the list.
- The cost of production is the materials total times 1.5. Nobody types it.
- Quote numbers carry on from the paper book. Your own quotation numbers stay yours; the form only records the one you used.
Signing in and out
- You stay signed in on your phone or computer for 30 days.
- If you share a computer, press Sign out at the end of your shift. Otherwise the next person's work is recorded under your name.
- Keep your access code to yourself. If you lose it, ask the MD to arrange a new one.
